San Diego Comic Con '07

We headed to San Diego for the world's largest comic book (and more) convention.

Stormtrooper Elvis was there...

Batman and Wonder Woman were there...

and Akiko finally got to meet Jabba.

We made the dealer's room rounds, picked up artist's sketchbooks and original art, comics and even a few con exclusives. I showed my sculpting portfolio around a little with the highlight being critiqued by Clayburn Moore himself. Awesome.
We stopped into some panels and had an overall good time.

Ended up chasing away the paparazzi, hopped into our car and headed home.

C O M I C - C O N

Indy 4 is moving at full speed ahead and several months of 11.5 hour days, 6 days a week is really wearing me out. Nothing however will stop me for attending THE biggest geek fest in the world, San Diego Comic-Con. I'm taking Friday and Saturday off so Akiko and I can wade through way too many people in search of original art, comic books and other sorts of goodies.
Last year 120,000 people were there and Hollywood has deemed the event to be more important than Cannes and will be there in full force with movie stars and big shots galore. If you're planning on going, make sure you check the souvenir book for artwork contributions from both of us.

Coolest Movie of the Year!

Saw Transformers on the 4th and even though I may be biased, I loved it. For a summer blockbuster, this movie had it all: story full of plot holes, humor, babes, amazing CG, product placement galore and explosive action. Sweet! I liked it better than Spider-man 3, Pirates 3 and is the first movie in years that I'm actually willing to pay to see in the theater a second time.
All the stuff our team sculpted on was right there on the screen too. The crashed pod, the ice cave, frozen Megatron, the energon cube set, miles of broken concrete and the pile of robot parts.

We saw it the Arclight in Hollywood where they had the movie vehicles on display.
