CONTROL

This weekend Akiko and I checked out Anton Corbijn's film Control.
It follows the short life of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of Joy Division. Shot in black and white with plenty of contrast, practically every shot is a beautiful composition with an artful eye for aesthetics.
Very well acted, gorgeous to look at, depressing story and an absolute must for Joy Division fans. If you know the history of Ian and the band, you'll be prepared for something other than a "feel good" ending so I wouldn't recommend Control to everyone, but it gets a big thumbs up from me.
